Generously funded by the Rising Youth grant

As part of the Our Climate, Our Stories creative writing competition, Canadian youth who are Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) were invited to share stories and their narratives about their lived experiences and personal, cultural and communal responses on Climate Change. The contest, open to people 14-29 years old, ended on December 15, 2020.

The top three entries in this writing competition, as selected by an expert panel of judges, will be awarded as follows:

  • 1st place prize: $200
  • 2nd place prize: $150
  • 3rd place prize: 100

A selection of 20 submissions will be compiled in to a digital book titled “Our Climate, Our Stories”. Throughout the competition, a series of virtual workshops and interactive events will take place.
