GREENING CANADIAN MOSQUES

EnviroMuslims and Faith & the Common Good, with generous funding from The Olive Tree Foundation, have come together to launch Greening Canadian Mosques (GCM) program!

The Greening Canadian Mosques program is the first of its kind in Canada. The project aims to work closely with mosques across the nation and develop a toolkit filled with resources to help them be sustainability champions! The toolkit will comprise of case studies, Islamic references, action plans, communications templates, multi-lingual posters, and other helpful resources. Our team’s goal is to provide resources that will assist mosques in implementing sustainable practices not only within their facilities, but will also give them an opportunity to engage with their local communities.

EnviroMuslims is currently reaching out to Canadian Muslims to complete the two surveys below. One survey is dedicated to understanding the viewpoint of congregation members and their thoughts around the role of their local mosque as sustainability champions, and the other is meant for Imams, board members, green team leads and/or members of management teams at Canadian mosques to help us understand current sustainability policies and practices  in place.
